From September 29, 2000 through December, 2009, at least 1441 Palestinian and 124 Israeli youths under the age of 18 were killed in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories. Thousands more have been injured, many permanently. Each year the PRC holds an annual Children's Memorial Day Flower Vigil to mourn these young lives. Participants bring a flower to symbolize both the fragility and beauty of life. The flower vigil is intended to unite Jews, Palestinians, and others who hope for peace. Names are read from Remember These Children which lists each of these 1565 deaths, arranged chronologically by date of death. Each entry includes the child’s name, hometown, how the child was killed and, where available, the nature of the fatal injury.
